Unless you are very into fashion and your lifestyle can afford it, you may find out that you don’t necessarily need a lot of clothes. Especially in our day in age where fast fashion has become very popular, and the desire to have more clothes has increased. The decision you wish to make on whether you want a new item in your closet happens at the store first.
We see what we want, while not being completely sure about the current clothes we already have. How many times have you purchased an item like a blue denim jacket, when you realized that you already have a blue denim jacket at your home.
Reasons To Cut back on Clothes
- Less Laundry and Upkeep: Whether you like it not, with more clothes means more trips to the laundry machine! However that it’s the same as having fewer clothes as well. Which is why you would have to find the perfect balance. Per one week, I would recommend having 3 different tops, and two different bottoms. With these options you can mix and match up to 6 different outfits for one week.
- No One Is Watching What you Wear: Unless you wore the same outfit as the day before, no one is really watching, and no one will notice or care. This goes even more unnoticed when you decide to wear clothes that are not branded. The more people cannot describe what you wear in detail, the more you are flying under the radar. However, this doesn’t mean you won’t look good.
- Give more time back to yourself: Not only can you do this with laundry, but you can also do this with organizing your home and keeping it clean! The more clothes you have, the higher the chance that you will have to find a new place to put them. What happens when you run out of places to put them? The clothes now become clutter.
- Saves Money: Having less clothes makes it undesirable to purchase more clothes. With having less clothes you’ve just eliminated one of your expenses. Having less clothes can also lead to purchasing higher quality clothes that will hopefully be a return in investment through lasting longer.
